Toys for Tots

Many BNI chapters are participating in some sort of community outreach this season. If you have not already chosen a way to give back, or would like an additional way to participate, our BNI region has chosen to partner with Toys for Tots as our way to make a BIG impact.

How Can Members Participate?

During the first two weeks of December, we encourage all members to participate in a Toys for Tots Meeting Stimulant. Bring a new, unwrapped toy to your chapter meeting and creatively incorporate that toy into your Weekly Presentation. Put some thought into it and have some fun!

After The Meeting

Take a group picture with your chapter members and all the toys donated. Send (1) the photos, (2) your chapter name and (3) a count of the total toys collected to [email protected] with the subject line “Toys for Tots.” Also, share those pictures on Facebook and all your social media, along with your local community papers.

Toy Drop-Off

All toys can be donated in a couple different ways:

  • You may take your chapter’s toy donations to the local Toy Drop-Off in your community. Toy Drop-Off locations: http://toysfortots.org/donate/toys.aspx
  • You can bring your chapter’s toys to one of our Vice President Roundtables on December 2, 9, 10 or 13. We will then take additional photos and bring them to a local Toy Drop-Off.

Can you imagine if all of our members participated? We would collect over 3,000 toys for young people! We know this will be fun, creative, bring people together and help others!

Toys for Tots Meeting Stimulant Examples:

  • EXAMPLE: My Name is John Doe with ABC Construction. Today I have with me a box of LEGOs. Just like a child will take these LEGOs and build their dream creation. We at ABC Construction can make your dreams become a reality when we build your new home ...
  • EXAMPLE: My name is Jane Doe with XYZ Automotive. Today I have with me a remote control car. A kid will not get the enjoyment out of this toy without the batteries. At XYZ Automotive we do a free battery check and a 21-point inspection to make sure you and your car survive the winter ...

What is an Acceptable Donation?

An acceptable donation is a NEW, unwrapped toy. Some examples of these are Nerf Guns, action figures, dolls, baby toys, puzzles and non-realistic looking weapons.

Toys for Tots DOES NOT ACCEPT clothes, food, used or open toys, liquid products (such as cologne, perfume, body wash, lotion, toothpaste etc.). If you desire to donate these items, please find a charity in your local area that will accept them.
